अष्टकवर्ग ग्रह और लग्न से संबंधित निश्चित स्थानों पर बिंदुओं का वितरण देखकर राशियों की तुलनात्मक शक्ति पढ़ने की एक पारंपरिक गणना-पद्धति है। प्रत्येक ग्रह का भिन्नाष्टकवर्ग अलग देखा जाता है। संबंधित तालिकाओं को जोड़ने से सर्वाष्टकवर्ग का समेकित रूप मिलता है।

बिंदु किस काम आते हैं?

बिंदुओं की संख्या किसी राशि/स्थान की तुलना के लिए संकेत देती है; वह अकेले किसी घटना की गारंटी नहीं है। गोचर का अध्ययन करते समय संबंधित ग्रह का भिन्नाष्टकवर्ग और सर्वाष्टकवर्ग दोनों संदर्भ देते हैं। गणना से पहले कौन-सी पद्धति और कौन-सी तालिका अपनाई गई है, यह स्पष्ट रखें।

छोटा उदाहरण: किसी राशि में अपेक्षाकृत अधिक बिंदु दिखें तो उसे उसी कुंडली की दूसरी राशियों से तुलना का संकेत मानें; “यहाँ निश्चित लाभ होगा” जैसा निष्कर्ष अपने आप नहीं निकलता।

अध्ययन में सावधानी

राशि, भाव, भावेश, दशा और प्रश्न का संदर्भ देखना जरूरी है। सॉफ्टवेयर में अयनांश या गणना-विकल्प बदलने से तालिका की तुलना भ्रमित कर सकती है। अभ्यास के लिए पहले एक ग्रह की भिन्नाष्टकवर्ग तालिका हाथ से पढ़ें, फिर समेकित सारणी देखें। षड्बल से इसका उद्देश्य अलग है।

The basic idea

Ashtakavarga is a traditional calculation method that compares signs through points assigned to specified positions relative to planets and the ascendant. Each planet’s Bhinnashtakavarga is examined separately. Combining the relevant tables gives the consolidated Sarvashtakavarga.

What do the points tell us?

The number of points provides a basis for comparing signs or positions; it does not guarantee an event. When studying transits, the relevant planet’s Bhinnashtakavarga and the Sarvashtakavarga both provide context. Record the method and tables used before calculating.

A small example: If a sign has relatively more points, compare it with other signs in the same chart. This alone does not establish that a benefit will certainly occur.

Care in study

Read the sign, house, house lord, Dasha and question together. Differences in software settings or Ayanamsha can make table comparisons misleading. Start by reading one planet’s Bhinnashtakavarga table by hand, then examine the combined table. Shadbala serves a different purpose.
