राशि क्या है?

राशि का अर्थ

ज्योतिष में निरयण राशिचक्र को बारह बराबर भागों में बाँटकर प्रत्येक भाग को 30 अंश का माना जाता है। मेष से मीन तक राशियों का क्रम स्थिर है। किसी ग्रह के “राशि में” होने का अर्थ है कि उसकी गणना की गई देशांतर स्थिति उस 30 अंश के खंड में आती है। राशि पूरी कुंडली नहीं है; यह कुंडली का एक निर्देशांक है।

लग्न और चंद्रराशि एक नहीं

लग्न जन्म के समय पूर्वी क्षितिज पर उदित राशि से जुड़ा है। चंद्रराशि चंद्रमा की राशि है। सामान्य बोलचाल की “मेरी राशि” कई बार चंद्रराशि के लिए प्रयुक्त होती है, जबकि कुछ लोकप्रिय राशिफल सूर्यराशि पर आधारित होते हैं। अध्ययन में बताना चाहिए कि किस राशि की बात हो रही है।

उदाहरण: किसी जातक का लग्न मिथुन और चंद्रमा कन्या में हो सकता है। दोनों कथन साथ-साथ सही हैं, पर उनका ज्योतिषीय उपयोग अलग है।

राशियों को कैसे पढ़ें?

चर, स्थिर और द्विस्वभाव जैसे वर्गीकरण तथा तत्व की चर्चा आरंभिक संकेत देते हैं। ग्रह की स्थिति पढ़ते समय उसके भाव, स्वामी, दृष्टि और अन्य संबंधों को भी देखें। केवल राशि के नाम से व्यक्तित्व या घटना का निश्चित निष्कर्ष निकालना सरल लेकिन अधूरा तरीका है।

The meaning of a sign

In Jyotish, the sidereal zodiac is divided into twelve equal 30-degree signs. Their sequence from Aries to Pisces is fixed. A planet being in a sign means that its calculated longitude falls within that segment. A sign is one coordinate in the chart rather than the whole chart.

The ascendant and Moon sign are different

The ascendant relates to the sign rising on the eastern horizon at birth. The Moon sign is the sign occupied by the Moon. In everyday use, “my sign” often means the Moon sign, while some popular horoscopes use the Sun sign. State which meaning you are using.

Example: A person may have Gemini rising and the Moon in Virgo. Both statements can be correct, with different uses in analysis.

How should signs be studied?

Classifications such as movable, fixed, dual and elemental groups provide initial indications. Also examine the planet’s house, ruler, aspects and relationships. Drawing a definite conclusion about personality or an event from the sign name alone is incomplete.
